Redesigning the LinkedIn Company Pages Admin Dashboard, allowing for businesses of all sizes to achieve growth, expand their outreach, and succeed on LinkedIn.
The LinkedIn ecosystem is a dynamic network connecting professionals, organizations, and communities to foster collaboration, growth, and opportunity.
Businesses and Organizations are integral to this ecosystem, leveraging the platform to attract top talent, grow their audiences, and build meaningful relationships that support their goals for brand awareness, thought leadership, and market impact.
LinkedIn Pages serve as a vital platform to allow businesses to do this in the LinkedIn ecosystem. If a profile is how an individual member represents themselves, a Page is how a business does the same. Strategically, Pages are designed to bridge the gap between members and organizations, encouraging authentic interactions that drive value on both sides of the ecosystem.
From a design and business perspective, the goal of the Pages team is to create a seamless and intuitive experience that enables companies—whether small startups or global enterprises—to effectively communicate their brand story, share updates, and attract talent. A large consideration is that Pages must balance Admin's needs with accessibility and value for members. Both sides of the ecosystem must be able to accomplish their goals in order to build an effective community.
As the Design Manager for LinkedIn Pages, my task was to reimagine the admin dashboard to empower businesses and organizations to manage their LinkedIn presence more effectively. LinkedIn Pages serve as a vital tool for organizations to accomplish a variety of goals such as to grow their audience, attract top talent, and foster engagement with members. However, to put it plainly, our tool was blunt.
The biggest issues were that or experience dropped admins off in the deep end with no context or help, and no differentiation or consideration for their goals or org size. On top of that, a slightly chaotic information architecture made it hard for admins to find the tools that they needed to manage their page, and extremely inefficient to complete routine tasks.
The goal was to reimagine the needs of each admin and organization, meeting them where they were at in their LinkedIn journey. If we could make it clear and simple to begin engaging with followers, monitoring performance, and updating content, tailored to each unique goal, we could accelerate the success of organizations on LinkedIn
